This is your opportunity to play a key role in designing and delivering modern enterprise cloud platforms across Azure and M365 environments, while influencing the strategic direction of complex national-scale systems.

What You’ll Do As a Cloud Engineer /Architect, you’ll:

• Design and develop enterprise-level cloud platform architectures in Microsoft Azure and M365.
• Create solution blueprints and detailed design documentation for cloud-based systems.
• Provide technical guidance and architectural direction to development and engineering teams.
• Conduct impact analysis to ensure alignment with strategic and whole-of-government standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—business owners, analysts, developers, and testers—to deliver solutions that meet project objectives.
• Contribute to platform automation, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines.
• Embed architectural principles such as reuse before build, configuration over customisation, and open access to data.
• Advocate for user experience and ensure compliance with the Digital Service Standard.
• Lead, mentor, and influence to promote innovation, collaboration, and best practice.

About You

You are a proactive and technically adept professional who thrives in complex environments. You’re motivated by the challenge of building efficient, secure, and future-ready systems.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• 5+ years’ experience in designing, building, and managing cloud solutions ideally in Azure environments.
• Proven skills in Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Service Bus, API Management, and Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
• Experience integrating cloud applications with platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working within Agile teams to deliver reliable, user-centric outcomes.
• A leadership mindset—able to mentor others, guide architectural discussions, and drive continuous improvement.

Desirable attributes include:

• Demonstrated technical leadership in complex ICT projects.
• A strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and cloud-based integration.
• Experience designing and documenting large-scale, multi-system architectures.
