Company Overview:

Our client is a leading operator in a hybrid open-pit and underground gold-copper and base metal mining, known for their modern fleet of high-performance equipment featuring the latest state of the art technology. With a strong commitment to productivity, safety, and supportive team, they continue to set industry standards. They are now seeking a Heavy Duty Mobile Plant Fitter to join their maintenance team on a 1-week-on, 1-week-off rotating roster (DIDO) from Dubbo, Nyngan, Orange, and/or surrounding Central Western NSW areas.

The successful applicant should be based in or willing to relocate to the Central West region of NSW, or work DIDO from surrounding areas.

Requirements:

Carrying out surface/ underground onsite field service preventative maintenance, and breakdowns services.

Carrying out all task with the highest safety standards and to OEM specifications.

Competent with the ability to read and interpret fundamental hydraulic and electrical schematics.

Diagnostic & troubleshooting with scan tools/ CANBUS / electronic rig control system to identify engine fault codes.

Adhering and committed to company's health and safety procedures and regulations.

Identifying malfunction and troubleshooting minor/major breakdowns services and repair.

You’ll be working on a diverse fleet of underground and surface mining equipment, including Sandvik iSeries/Automine drill rigs (DD422i, DL432i), Epiroc MT65 trucks, Caterpillar R2900 loaders, Caterpillar 140M graders, charging equipment, and Volvo ITs. Your expertise will help ensure high fleet availability and reliability, supporting efficient, boosting productivity across both underground and surface mining environments.

You are required to hold a trade certification in Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology on the maintenance and repairing of heavy mobile plant machinery in the mining, construction, agricultural/forestry and earth-moving industry, or possess relevant trade experience in heavy commercial automotive. You should have demonstrated problem-solving skills, along with a collaborative approach to teamwork. Your capabilities should include exceptional mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities, fault-finding expertise, and troubleshooting proficiency. You should also be proficient in reading and interpreting hydraulic and low-voltage electrical schematics. Strong communication skills are essential, as they enable you to cultivate long-term customer relationships
