Our client, a family-owned jewel nestled on the Great Dividing Range in Queensland, is seeking a General Manager to lead its operations.
They're not just looking for a manager; they're looking for a hands-on leader who wants to make a real impact and embrace a vibrant country lifestyle.
The Role: More Than a Job, It’s a Lifestyle
As their General Manager, you will be at the heart of the business. Your primary focus will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of the holiday park, from ensuring seamless guest services to maintaining its extensive grounds and facilities. They thrive on the energy of peak seasons, school holidays, long weekends, and special events and need a leader with the drive and presence to be right in the middle of it all.
When things slow down, you won't be bored. This is your time to shine by driving forward strategic projects that build the brand. You'll lead everything from capital works and trail development to new youth programs and exciting ventures that will help them grow. This is not an office job, you'll be on your feet out and about making a difference.
What They're Looking For: A Get-It-Done Leader
Our client needs a proactive, organised, and passionate individual who thrives in a hands-on environment. If you're a problem-solver who isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves, you’ll fit right in.
Your Experience & Attributes:
- Proven Experience: You have a track record of managing people, contractors, and relationships, ideally in the tourism sector.
- A "Get-It-Done" Attitude: You're a practical operator who takes pride in getting the job done efficiently and effectively.
- Customer First: You have a genuine passion for hospitality and a knack for creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Leadership & Management: You're skilled at managing staff, rosters, suppliers, and contractors.
- Financial Savvy: You're comfortable working with budgets, reporting, and meeting KPIs.
Key Deliverables: Your Impact
- Operations: Lead daily operations, ensure top-tier guest experiences during peak periods, and maintain full compliance across all aspects of the park.
- Events: Deliver successful weekly and weekend functions, while growing event revenue and building the business's reputation as a premier events destination.
- Growth: Drive occupancy and repeat visitation, introduce new ventures like nature-based programs, and foster guest loyalty.
- Strategic Planning: Translate a vision into actionable annual plans, manage capital works, and report on business performance.
A Change of Scenery: The Benefits
This role offers the unique opportunity to live and work in one of Australia’s most stunning natural landscapes. The air is fresh, the views are stunning, and the lifestyle is a world away from the hustle of city life.
They offer a competitive salary package, which includes:
- Base Salary: $90,000 p.a.
- Superannuation (11.5%): $10,350 p.a.
- Vehicle (fully maintained): $15,000 p.a. (est.)
- Onsite 4-Bedroom Family Home: $40,000 p.a.
- Groceries Allowance: $10,400 p.a.
