Hill McGlynn Recruitment is representing a leading national logistics business in the search for an Operations Manager to oversee daily warehousing activities at their Morningside facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant running of a large-scale tri-temperature (ambient, chilled, frozen) operation, supporting major customers across the Petrol & Convenience (P&C) and FMCG sectors.
The Opportunity
As Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving operational performance and leading the warehouse team to deliver excellence across multiple temperature zones. You’ll take ownership of daily reporting, compliance, and labour management, while maintaining strong coordination with transport and customer service teams to ensure smooth outbound execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations across ambient, chilled, and frozen environments
• Lead a team of supervisors and warehouse staff to achieve service, safety, and performance targets
• Manage inventory control, compliance, and workforce planning
• Ensure accurate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reporting
• Support continuous improvement projects and warehouse optimisation initiatives
• Work closely with the State Manager and transport team to coordinate outbound flows
• Maintain strong focus on workplace safety, culture, and team engagement

What You’ll Bring

• Proven operational leadership experience in warehousing or logistics (tri-temp preferred)
• Exposure to Petrol & Convenience (P&C) or FMCG distribution highly regarded
• Strong analytical and reporting capability — able to interpret data and drive improvement
• Solid understanding of warehouse systems, compliance, and safety frameworks
• A hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop teams
• Ambition to grow into broader leadership roles within a national logistics network
