About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Retail Shop Assistant and Data Entry specialist to join the team at Matty's Toys and Baby' in South Nowra, NSW. This is a casual role, offering you the flexibility to balance your work and personal life. Expect to be regularly working 3.5 days per week with more shifts required in the busy season of November-December. There is the potential for the position to be permanent part or full time for the right candidate. Availability to consistently work weekends is a must as we are open 9-4 on Saturday and 9.30-1.30 on Sunday. As a Retail Shop Assistant, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining store presentation, and assisting with various administrative tasks.

What you'll be doing

Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner

Operate the cash register, process transactions, and handle cash and card payments

Restock and organise merchandise to maintain the store's appearance

Perform data entry tasks, such as inventory management and order processing

Answer customer inquiries and provide product information

Collaborate with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient store operation

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a retail or customer service role, preferably in the toy or baby products industry

Minimum of 1+ years experience in retail or customer service roles is required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills

Experience with inventory software systems is preferred for stock management and data entry tasks

MS Office basics proficiency is preferred for computer and data entry tasks.

Flexibility to work on a casual basis, including weekends and holidays

Availability to work weekends is essential for this casual position
