About Balonne Shire:

The Balonne Shire is located along the beautiful Balonne River, just five hours' drive west of Brisbane on the QLD-NSW border. Balonne Shire Council has a dedicated team of 110+ staff and population of 4,500 people who live in the surrounding towns of St George, Thallon, Dirranbandi, Bollon, Nindigully, Mungindi and Hebel.

About the Position:

The Construction Supervisors Role is to supervise the construction and maintenance of council roads and street works (including drainage), by Council's Day workforce and sub-contractors. The Construction Supervisor will report to the Manager Roads Construction and Maintenance with work crews to be allocated as determined by operational requirements.

About you:

Demonstrable ability to work unsupervised, meet demanding deadlines and deliver high quality outcomes

Demonstrable ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and legislative requirements

A High-level customer service and communication skills with an ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders in a culturally diverse environment

Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite

Experience in managing employees, plant and equipment, and contractors

Experience in road construction and maintenance

What we offer:

This is a full-time, permanent position, salary cash component – Level 4 - $79,662 per annum.

Locality allowance of $1,945 per annum

9-day fortnight, RDO arrangement

5 weeks annual leave

15 days sick leave
