About the Opportunity
At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. To help us achieve this we are seeking a Senior Transport Engineer to join our Infrastructure Planning and Design team.
In this role, you will oversee and manage Council's transport infrastructure and traffic engineering services. You will lead the planning and design of transport projects within the Operational Plan, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the transport network across all modes — including vehicles, freight, pedestrians, cyclists, public transport and micro-mobility. The role also includes leadership responsibilities, providing guidance and support to colleagues and direct reports within the team.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or other relevant engineering discipline acceptable for membership to Engineers Australia), or recognised degree in a related discipline with relevant experience.
- Demonstrated recent experience in planning and managing large transport networks.
- Strong skills in investigation, plan development, estimating, and design of transport infrastructure works.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement.
- Sensitivity to community needs and expectations.
- Knowledge of project management processes.
- Current Class C driver's licence and General Construction Induction (White) Card.
On a typical day this role will:
- Guide, oversee, and report on the delivery of capital works and renewal programs for road, path and transport assets.
- Provide leadership and support to colleagues within the Community Infrastructure division on transport issues, policies, and standards.
- Review and interpret traffic modelling reports and provide advice on traffic management and transport projects.
- Liaise with key stakeholders such as Transport for NSW, Police, and bus operators on operational matters.
- Assist with community responses on complex operational transport matters.
Remuneration and Benefits
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week
Salary: Starting from $107,977.54 o $120,860.24 depending on skills and experience plus 12% super
Allowance: 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance
This role also qualifies for a Leaseback or Vehicle allowances
