About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to support a busy construction business delivering a range of plastering and building projects. This role suits someone confident in coordinating suppliers, sourcing materials and keeping everything running on time and within budget.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase materials, equipment, and services for projects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Compare pricing, negotiate quotes, and ensure cost-effective outcomes
- Manage purchase orders and keep procurement records accurate and up to date
- Coordinate and track deliveries to meet project schedules
- Work collaboratively with estimating and site teams to meet project needs
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes
- Assist with resolving supply, delivery or invoice issues as they arise
Skills & Experience:
- 2-4 years' experience in a procurement or purchasing role
- Knowledge of construction materials - plastering trade experience highly regarded
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and time management ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Xero (or similar software)
- Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Confident, proactive, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
