About the role

This full-time Joinery Procurement Officer role at Melwood Joinery in Braeside, Victoria offers an exciting opportunity to play a key part in the procurement and supply chain operations of a successful and growing joinery business. You will be responsible for sourcing, ordering and coordinating the delivery of all materials and equipment required for the manufacture of custom-built joinery and cabinetry.

What you'll be doing

Liaise with internal project managers and production staff to forecast and procure required materials and supplies

Research, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best value and lead times for procurement

Manage purchase orders, inventory levels and delivery schedules to ensure projects are supplied on time

Develop and maintain strong relationships with a network of reliable suppliers

Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and drive efficiencies in the supply chain

Provide clear and regular communication to internal stakeholders on the status of orders and deliveries

What we're looking for

Strong background in procurement, supply chain or logistics, ideally within a manufacturing or construction environment

Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills

Highly organised with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines

Proficient in using procurement and inventory management systems

Knowledge of materials, equipment and processes used in commercial joinery and cabinetmaking

Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience
