We are currently seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring our learning environments remain safe, clean, and functional for children, staff, and families.

As our Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for the general upkeep and repairs across our early learning centres. Your role will involve hands-on maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting the smooth daily operations of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and outdoor play areas

Perform basic repairs and maintenance (e.g. painting, fixing doors, assembling furniture)

Coordinate with external contractors when needed

Ensure all areas are safe and hazard-free for children and staff

Assist with gardening, rubbish removal, and grounds upkeep

Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from centre directors

Ideally, you are a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping spaces clean, safe, and well-maintained. You’re comfortable working in a child-focused environment and understand the importance of safety, reliability, and professionalism.

What makes our ideal Maintenance Officer:

Previous experience in a maintenance or handyman role

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or willingness to obtain

Good knowledge of building maintenance and minor repairs

Strong attention to detail and time management

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

A friendly, professional manner and positive attitude

Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport

Willingness to travel between centres as needed

Experience in an early childhood or school setting is an advantage but not essential.
