The Opportunity:
This is a Fixed term opportunity for 12 months with the possibility of extension.
Are you ready to lead strategic water policy initiatives that shape a more sustainable future for Western Australia? The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Policy Officer to lead the Waterwise Branch and drive the delivery of the Waterwise Program and specifically Kep Katitjin – Gabi Kaadadjan Waterwise Action Plan 3.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for high-level strategic planning, cross-government collaboration, and public representation of one of the state’s most important environmental programs. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, internal teams, and interagency groups to influence policy, deliver complex projects, and ensure alignment with departmental and state-wide sustainability goals.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in stakeholder engagement, program management, and water and environmental policy. You will bring a track record of delivering in complex and evolving environments, along with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Your leadership will foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture that values innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
