The Opportunity
Library Services at UniSC is a dynamic hub dedicated to fostering an exceptional centre of learning, research, and creativity. Working closely with colleagues, you will coordinate electronic resources, manage licensing and access, and develop staff training to enhance service delivery. Through collaboration and continuous improvement, you will help create a library environment where discovery and connection thrive.
You will:
- evaluate and recommend to the Manager Library Collections and Access addition of new and emerging electronic resources, ensuring the library’s digital collection supports course development, research and the broader university community needs;
- develop and implement training programs for library staff, ensuring they are well informed and proficient in utilising and managing electronic resources;
- coordinate technical aspects, licensing, and user access to maintain seamless resource availability; and
- prepare documentation guides, organise procurement and finance documentation according to university procurement guidelines, and resolve problems regarding user access to electronic resources
About you
Our candidate is a knowledgeable and experienced library professional who understands the vital role electronic resources play in supporting academic success and research excellence. You bring a strong background in managing digital collections, licensing, and consortia agreements within an academic library environment. A natural problem-solver, you’re skilled at analysing challenges and delivering practical solutions that keep library systems running smoothly. You communicate clearly and confidently with diverse audiences and manage competing priorities with ease. Curious and committed to continuous learning, you stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies to ensure our digital resources remain accessible, reliable, and relevant.
You will possess:
- completion of a relevant degree with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training in Library and Information Management;
- extensive experience coordinating electronic resources, with knowledge of collaborative agreements and license management in an academic library setting;
- proven ability to analyse issues and develop practical solutions for efficient electronic resource management;
- strong knowledge of integrated library systems, applications, and technologies supporting digital collections;
- ability to compile high-quality, evidence-based reports;
- skilled at managing workloads and priorities under tight deadlines to meet operational needs;
- ability to work across multiple sites when required, including Sippy Downs, Moreton Bay, Fraser Coast, Gympie and Caboolture; and
- excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to diverse audiences.
