What's the Opportunity?

We're on the lookout for an Early Childhood Teacher to join our friendly team at Orchard Road Community Early Learning Centre in Doreen on a fixed term contract through to December 2026.

Some of your key duties will include:

  • Provide a safe, secure, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Document children's learning and development effectively.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow educators and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Lead and mentor other educators, sharing your knowledge to support professional development.

This is a full-time, fixed-term parental leave cover position, commencing 27 January 2026 through to 18 December 2026. Weekly hours will include 25 contact hours and 13 non-contact hours.

What do we hope you'll bring?

  • Legal right to live and work in Australia.
  • Police Check (and International Police check if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years)
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent as approved by ACECQA) and VIT Registration.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma quals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning Development Framework (VEYLDF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and National Regulations.
  • Ability to implement curriculum planning and assessment processes aligned with these frameworks.
  • Proven ability to plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality education programs.
  • Strong understanding of play based learning and inquiry-based approaches.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development, with strong reflective practice skills.
  • Excellent communication and an ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
