About the Role:
Thanks to an exciting internal promotion, we’re on the lookout for an energetic hands-on Accounts Assistant to join our high performing team! You’ll report to the Financial Accountant, managing customers and suppliers, processing payments, and completing reconciliations. No two days are the same, and with our business growing rapidly, there’s plenty of room to learn, improve processes, and take on new challenges.

Responsibilities:

Accurate and timely entering of accounts payable data, including purchase order matching

Accurate GST classification of accounts payable data

Supplier account creation, management, and reconciliation

Company corporate credit card reconciliations

Identify gaps in the accounts payable and receivable function, and implement policy and process improvements

Daily receipting of customer payments

Overseeing accounts receivable process and reporting, including liaising with sales team and customers as required on account matters

Assist sales team with processing customer returns/credits

Processing customer and supplier credit applications

Assisting with purchase order processing

Assisting other departments and teams with various projects on an ad hoc basis

Our successful candidate will possess the following qualities:

Highly organised, process driven with high attention to detail

Ability to manage workloads to meet deadlines

A good communicator and able to explain finance processes to non-finance staff

Competent and confident using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Previous experience with sophisticated ERP accounting software

Understanding of basic accounting principles and functions

Knowledge of GST legislation and classification

Our primary ERP system is MYOB Advanced. Experience will be highly advantageous. We utilise invoice reading software so embracing new technology will be crucial in this role.
