The Darling Downs-Moreton Rabbit Board (DDMRB) plays a strategic role in reducing the spread of rabbits into and within Queensland by maintaining the rabbit fence and educating and assisting land managers to remove rabbits from their land. The fence and our organisation have been in existence for 130 years and remain as important as ever at suppressing rabbits and their impacts on Queensland's agricultural productivity and natural environment.

The position involves patrol and maintenance duties on the 555km Rabbit Barrier Fence, which runs from Mt Gipps, near Rathdowney, to Goombi, north west of Chinchilla, where it meets the Wild Dog Barrier Fence. The position primarily operates within our Moreton Division (between Wilsons Peak and Mt Gipps) but may be required to work anywhere within the DDMRB operational area on a project and ad hoc basis.

The successful applicant will be an energetic, motivated individual that is capable of working autonomously and as part of a team in isolated and challenging terrain. You will have experience and skills in fencing or a related trade or field, and operating relevant equipment, machinery and vehicles.

The position is based at DDMRB's Palen Creek depot, near Rathdowney.

Overnight camping in DDMRB supplied camps or accommodation is a requirement of the position.
