Your new role:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for providing effective, efficient, financial management including decision support (through analysis/ budget/forecasts) to the Organization's Leadership team. Acting as 2IC to Financial Controller to oversee the Economic Enterprise Unit (finance function).
The position requires knowledge in education, management service and property partnership operations in relation to APC Education Group, internal and external stakeholder management, system enhancements, implement and amend processes where required for financial governance, staff management, regulatory and compliance reporting.
What you will be doing:
Managing month-end closing process
Assisting with Financial Reporting preparations
Assisting with external reporting such as reports for banking partners and external compliance reporting
Assisting with developing and managing budgets and provide financial forecasts for strategic planning
Coordinating with external auditors and participating in the annual audit
Coordinating with external tax consultants in tax return preparation
Assisting with payroll process in Dayforce
Managing BAS returns, FBT and payroll tax returns
Ensuring all financial practice comply with relevant laws and regulations
Assisting with system updates testing
Ensuring the Finance team continue to improve processes and leverage reports, dashboards and workflows
What you'll need to succeed:
At least 5 years post CA/CPA qualified experience
No less than 2 years experience with Oracle NetSuite
Sound knowledge of Dayforce payroll process
Sound knowledge of AASB, tax laws and other regulations
Excellent Excel skills
Ability to analyze financial data and solve complex financial issues
Leading and mentoring junior staff
