We're an independently run café in the heart of Croydon, serving locals quality coffee, brunch, and seasonal dishes with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. We're now seeking a Lead Chef / Cook to take the reins in our kitchen.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position, perfect for someone who loves creating flavoursome breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes while leading a small team. You'll oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain high standards of food quality, and work closely with management to keep our menu fresh and exciting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the kitchen team

Develop and refine seasonal menu items and specials

Maintain food safety, hygiene and organisation standards

Manage ordering, stock, and food costs

Collaborate with front of house for smooth service

About You

We're looking for someone with proven chef or cook experience, ideally in brunch-style kitchens, who thrives in a fast-paced but supportive environment. You're passionate about fresh, local produce, love creating dishes that look as good as they taste, and can inspire others by leading from the front.

Minimum 2-3 years of commercial kitchen experience, preferably in café or brunch environments

Proven leadership experience managing kitchen teams of 2-4 staff members

Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles

Experience with stock management, ordering, and cost control systems
