The Role

We are seeking a Civil Engineering Draftsperson with hands-on experience in NBN fibre design, civil layouts, and lead-in conduit design.
You will be responsible for preparing high-quality drawings for pit & pipe networks, new LICs (Lead-In Conduits), and Direct Buried paths, ensuring compliance with NBN and local authority standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed civil and fibre network drawings using AutoCAD or similar design software.

Design and document new LICs, Direct Buried paths, pit & pipe routes, and fibre alignments for new developments and network upgrades.

Interpret redlines, survey data, and field mark-ups to produce accurate “for construction” and “as-built” drawings.

Develop pit schedules, duct/conduit details, jointing layouts, and lead-in designs in accordance with NBN guidelines.

Coordinate with project engineers, field teams, and HSE managers to verify design accuracy.

Ensure all drawings adhere to NBN Unify standards, local council requirements, and Australian Standards.

Maintain document control and version tracking for all projects.

Requirements

Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or Telecommunications Design.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, 12d, or equivalent CAD platforms.

Understanding of NBN pit & pipe, direct buried, and lead-in conduit standards.

Strong attention to detail, with the ability to visualise practical field implementation.

Effective communication and coordination skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Previous experience with NBN Design (Unify platform), Service Stream, BSA, or Ventia projects will be highly regarded.
