Position Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Operations Manager with a strong background in the air conditioning (HVAC) industry and proven experience managing projects and compliance under the VEU scheme. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations, manage installation teams, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and help drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of the air conditioning installation and upgrade projects.

Manage and lead in-house and subcontracted installation teams to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality work.

Ensure all projects are compliant with VEU program requirements, including correct documentation, accreditation, and reporting.

Work closely with internal teams (sales, admin, compliance, and warehouse) to ensure smooth project flow from initiation to completion.

Liaise with VEU program administrators (e.g., ESC, APs) to stay current with scheme updates, compliance changes, and reporting obligations.

Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Monitor and report on operational KPIs, productivity, and job margins.

Ensure all WHS policies and procedures are adhered to across all projects.

Contribute to strategic planning and help identify opportunities for business growth within the HVAC and energy efficiency sectors.

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the HVAC or related trades.

Direct experience working within the VEU (Victorian Energy Upgrades) industry is essential.

Solid understanding of energy efficiency schemes, regulatory compliance, and certificate creation processes.

Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and direct a diverse team.

Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.

Proficient with project management and workflow tools.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of WHS standards and practices in a trade environment.

Ability to interpret and apply updates to VEU activity requirements and compliance documentation.

Desirable Qualifications

Trade qualification in HVAC or related field (optional but advantageous).

VEU Accredited Person (AP) experience or familiarity with working alongside APs.

Diploma in Business, Operations Management, or Project Management.
