About the role

This role is responsible for managing the low and high voltage electrical requirements that support the PTA’s electric bus conversion strategy and ferry expansion program. It plays a key part in the design, construction, and maintenance of new and existing infrastructure across the Transperth bus and ferry networks, as well as the Transregional bus public transport network.

The position provides technical expertise and project management leadership on medium to high-risk infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with PTA standards, safety requirements, and engineering assurance processes. It involves delivering designs, feasibility plans, cost estimates, and financial justifications, while overseeing consultants and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality. Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership of project teams, and the ability to provide specialist advice on technical standards and contract management are central to this role.

About You!

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Professional engineering qualifications (eligible for membership with Engineers Australia) with proven experience in planning, design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure, including electrical systems for low and high voltage public transport applications such as bus depot charging equipment.

Strong project and contract management expertise with a demonstrated ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects to agreed outcomes

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage staff, consultants, and contractors, while fostering positive team environments and achieving agreed outcomes.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical capabilities, including building senior-level relationships, negotiating persuasively, and developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
