Our client is a leading national retail group renowned for their commitment to innovation, quality, and customer experience. With a strong pipeline of new store builds and refurbishments, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Construction team and deliver high-profile retail projects that shape the customer experience nationwide.

About the Role

Reporting to the State Construction Manager, you’ll oversee the end-to-end delivery of capital works projects valued between $10M–$50M. This role requires a strong technical foundation, exceptional communication skills, and the confidence to work autonomously while collaborating across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll take ownership from early planning through to handover, managing budgets, schedules, and safety standards to ensure each project is delivered on time, on budget, and to a consistently high standard. With a busy national program already underway, this is an opportunity to hit the ground running and make a genuine impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects from concept design to completion and handover.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, quality, and safety across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Engage and manage contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure project success.
  • Coordinate with store operations to minimise disruption during work.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Provide regular project reporting and performance updates to leadership.
  • Travel regionally and interstate (SA & NT) as required to oversee key projects.

About You

You’re a well-rounded Project Manager with a diverse background — ideally combining experience from contractor, consultancy, and client-side environments, giving you the ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives.

You’re proactive, independent, and confident managing projects without micro-management, with the initiative to lead from day one and deliver results in a high-volume program.

You’re also an exceptional communicator, capable of building strong relationships across all levels while navigating conflict with professionalism and clarity.

You thrive under pressure and bring a resilient, “glass half-full” mindset, staying composed, positive, and solutions-driven even when challenges arise.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience managing medium to large-scale construction projects ($10M+)
  • Balanced experience across contractor, consultancy, or local authority backgrounds
  • Strong initiative and independence — able to manage projects confidently without micro-management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders across all levels
  • Resilience and a “glass half-full” attitude — able to stay composed and solution-oriented when challenges arise
  • Ability to manage conflict constructively and drive collaboration toward results
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, or Project Management
  • Current White Card / OH&S certification
  • Willingness to travel regionally and interstate as required

What’s on Offer:

  • Attractive total package up to $170,000 (inclusive of superannuation)
  • Performance incentive of up to 10% of total remuneration
  • Opportunity to lead complex, high-profile retail construction projects
  • Supportive leadership with strong program visibility and autonomy
  • Collaborative, fast-paced environment with genuine progression opportunities

What’s in it for You?

  • Flexible working options: Enjoy hybrid arrangements that support work-life balance.
  • Office perks: Access onsite gym, fitness classes, free parking, BBQ area, food and product sampling hub, and more.
  • Discounts: Receive ongoing discounts and exclusive deals across a wide range of retail and partner offerings.
  • Reward through recognition: Celebrate achievements via a digital rewards platform, earning points redeemable for gifts and vouchers.
  • Learning and development: Access structured training and career pathways across a large, multi-faceted organisation.
  • Paid parental leave: Supportive policies that prioritise family balance and wellbeing.
  • Investment in your future: Annual share and savings programs that encourage long-term growth and ownership.

If you’re an experienced Project Manager ready to deliver high-impact projects for a leading national retail brand, we’d love to hear from you.
