Our client is a fast-growing contractor in the resources sector, providing maintenance, plant and labour hire services to some of WA’s most demanding mining operations. With a workforce built around skilled FIFO trades, they pride themselves on being nimble, responsive, and commercially sharp — but recognise the need for experienced HR leadership to take the business to its next stage.
As Senior HR Manager, you’ll bring both strategic influence and hands-on delivery. You’ll be the trusted advisor to the executive team, shaping people strategy, while also ensuring that contracts, compliance, and day-to-day workforce matters are managed with rigour and consistency.
Key accountabilities include:
Executive and Management Team Partnership – be the commercially minded, trusted partner to the business and its key executive and management team around “all things people.”
Industrial Relations Leadership – steer EA negotiations and manage complex workforce relationships to achieve fair, sustainable outcomes.
Workforce Strategy – design pay structures and retention strategies that balance competitiveness with cost control; monitor market pay rates and provide commercial insights to leadership.
Culture & Engagement – embed programs that build accountability, trust, and belonging across both trades and non-trades staff; support supervisor training and leadership development.
Team Leadership – lead, coach, and develop a capable HR and Talent Acquisition team to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
HR Operations – oversee recruitment, contracts, and onboarding; implement systems and frameworks (including HRIS/ERP integration) that professionalise HR delivery.
We’re looking for an HR leader who can think commercially and act practically. You’ll have:
Strong background in industrial relations and enterprise agreements.
Experience supporting blue-collar, FIFO or labour hire workforces.
A solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to find pathways rather than roadblocks.
Credibility with both frontline teams and executives — you’ll know when to challenge, when to listen, and when to adapt but most of all, be part of the solution.
Proven success in building retention, culture, and performance frameworks in dynamic, private enterprise environments.
This is a pivotal appointment. You’ll step into a role with genuine voice at the executive table, reporting directly to the COO, and be trusted to deliver impact across the full people agenda.
