In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Melbourne Market site, ensuring every process runs safely, efficiently, and in alignment with our values. From leading our operations and security teams to embedding a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, you’ll be driving real outcomes in one of Australia’s most dynamic working environments.

Start early, make an impact: While our site operates 24/7, the general start time for this role is 4am, Monday to Friday—ideal for those who thrive in a fast-paced, early-start environment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Champion a zero-harm culture by promoting safe work practices and investigating incidents with a solutions mindset

Inspire and lead our Market Relations Team Leads and Officers, driving performance and positive team culture

Enforce the Market Operating Rules and demerit point system with fairness and consistency

Identify and implement operational improvements, contributing to broader change initiatives

Lead contractor management, review invoices, and ensure service delivery aligns with agreements

Deliver training and knowledge-sharing programs that uplift team capability and performance

Collaborate across departments, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations

Provide clear operational reporting and insights to the Chief Operating Officer

We’re Looking For Someone Who

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications in Business Administration, Customer Service, or Security

Experience using tools like Microsoft Suite and Salesforce

Prior experience in property or facilities management

Familiarity with service-level agreements, contractor performance, and compliance systems
