About the role
We are seeking a talented Accountant to join the FCA reporting to the CEO and working along side a small leadership team. As our Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the organisation's overall growth and success. This is a full-time position based in our Melbourne office just near Carlton Gardens including a work from home policy that enables flexibility.
What you'll be doing
Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management
Prepare and analyse financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making
Prepare monthly financial reports and cash flow for management and board
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to maintain accurate financial records
Process the fortnightly payroll for a small team of 12
Provide financial advice and support to other departments, helping them make informed business decisions, integrating with the membership database
Working with the CEO, identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficient financial systems and controls
What we're looking for
Qualified accountant with 6+ years of experience in a finance management role, preferably within a membership organisation or NFP
A true all rounder across all of the accounting functions with strong technical expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset
Willingness to be hands on working with our mighty team across the company
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
Thorough understanding of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
