The Role:
Responsible for developing and implementing effective communications and marketing strategies to promote the City of Salisbury, with a strong focus on Economic Development and Growth initiatives. The role provides strategic advice and support to the City Shaping Division, including the Polaris Business Development Centre and other key areas. It also involves coordinating the delivery of marketing and engagement activities, producing content and collateral, and evaluating the impact and effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.
Key Responsibility
- Develop and implement proactive and data informed communication and marketing strategies.
- Evaluate and measure communications strategies and channels.
- Provide best practice communications and marketing advice in line with branding and communications policies and procedures.
- Lead projects from initiation to completion, including managing budgets and tasks.
- Coordinate the social media, websites and other digital channels for Polaris Business Development Centre and Salisbury + through an effective and measured social media and content strategy.
- Coordinate external supplier relationships, including marketing agencies, photographers, videographers and media agencies to procure and produce campaigns and collateral.
- Manage the corporate brand and reputation of the City of Salisbury, and related sub-brands owned by the City Shaping Division - Salisbury+ and Polaris Business Development Centre, through adherence to brand guidelines and policies.
Skill & Competencies:
- Proven experience in a similar combined communications and marketing role, managing multiple communications and marketing plans and projects at one time.
- Proven experience coordinating strategic marketing campaigns to meet organisational objectives.
- Proven ability to write for a range of audiences with a particular emphasis on accuracy, and to apply highly developed verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience in the research, development and implementation of communications and marketing campaign.
- Experience in briefing and working collaboratively with a range of external organisations such as marketing agencies, videographers, photographers, graphic designers and printers.
