About the Role
The Communications Specialist role is responsible for assisting in the development of strategic communication initiatives and stakeholder messaging at the Australian Museum. In this role you will be focusing on delivering high-impact communication projects, including assisting with the development of the annual report as well as key internal communications channels. The Communications Specialist will provide effective internal and external communications and engagement and assist with communications project management.

You will be paid a competitive annual salary $99,938 - $110,271 plus employer's contribution to superannuation (currently 12%) and annual leave loading.
About you
We are seeking a communications professional who has a proven track record of developing and executing internal and external communication initiatives within a complex or multifaceted organisation. You will have well-developed interpersonal skills and can adapt your communication approach to engage a diverse range of stakeholders. You enjoy working independently and collaboratively while successfully managing competing priorities and deliverables.
Knowledge & Experience
- Demonstrated communications experience, including the development, implementation, guidance and evaluation of communications and engagement plans, annual reports, style guides, branding, print and digital communications materials, events management and communications administration function.
- Experience in successfully delivering sensitive communications and advising on confidential information.
- Experience preparing professional communications and documents for senior leaders and sector-wide audiences, including providing communication guidance.
- Experience in developing organisation-wide materials such as annual reports.
- Experience working in government, corporate, arts sector, and / or Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museum sector, desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of the NSW government processes and legislative requirements for reporting, desirable.
Essential requirements
- Tertiary level qualifications, or demonstrable equivalent professional experience, in a relevant discipline.
