About Alpine MDF
Alpine MDF Industries is a leading wood processing facility based in Wangaratta, North East Victoria. We manufacture and distribute MDF products both nationally and internationally, providing stable employment for over 140 local workers.
Our primary focus is the production of Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF), widely used in the construction and related industries. In addition to our core manufacturing operations, we operate an on-site re-manufacturing facility, enhancing raw MDF into high-quality building products. These include pre-painted skirting boards, architraves, door and window components, and decorative wall lining panels
Purpose
We are seeking a Company Accountant to join our Finance & Administration team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a key role in managing general accounting functions, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and cost analysis. This is a diverse and hands-on role offering exposure across all areas of financial management.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Prepare monthly financial reports, KPIs, reconciliations, and Board reporting inputs;
• Assist with cashflow forecasting and annual budgeting processes;
• Manage month-end processes, journals, accruals, prepayments, and payroll reconciliations;
• Administer GST, FBT and other statutory returns;
• Maintain the fixed asset register, balance sheet, and bank account reconciliations;
• Contribute to cost/management accounting including inventory analysis, variance reporting, and product costing;
• Liaise with auditors, banks, and financial institutions;
• Support Accounts Payable/Receivable and broader Finance administration.
What You’ll Bring:
• Degree-qualified (or currently studying) in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline;
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a financial/accounting role;
• High attention-to-detail, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Proficiency in accounting software (Syteline experience advantageous) and Microsoft Office;
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, while also supporting a team environment;
• Manufacturing or cost accounting experience highly regarded;
• Our parent company is based in Thailand so the ability to speak Thai would be an advantage.
