About the opportunity
IFYS is seeking a compassionate and proactive individual to join our Accommodation Services Team as an Immediate Housing Response Worker.
This role support singles, couples and families on the Sunshine Coast who are at imminent risk of or are experiencing homelessness.
Under the guidance of the Coordinator, you will deliver immediate housing support using a person-centred, solutions-focused framework.

Salary base $76,300 per annum + superannuation – IFYS is committed to gender pay equity
Hours of operation 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday

Key accountabilities
Support individuals to achieve their housing related goals
Respond in a timely manner to enquiries providing initial response and assessment, inclusive of needs, risks and vulnerabilities
Utilise a person-centred, solutions focused and trauma-informed practice
Develop and implement goal plans with service users to reach their self-identified goals
Assist individuals to comply with the terms of their accommodation, and take compliance action as necessary
Provide emotional, social and welfare support in a culturally safe and therapeutic manner with the support of the Coordinator
Complete administrative tasks, including maintaining service user records, referral information, and the provision of accurate and timely information
Meet with community members and stakeholders to maintain referral pathways for service users
To be successful in this role you will possess
Demonstrated experience in front-line human services, in roles supporting individuals experiencing homelessness or working within crisis accommodation services
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
The ability to manage crisis situations in a therapeutic manner
Strong stakeholder engagement skills within a multi-disciplinary setting
A Certificate IV or higher qualification in a relevant area of study is highly regarded
Availability across business hours
Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful
Valid Queensland open driver's license with no restrictions
QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
National Criminal History Check (a new check will be conducted through IFYS systems)
Ability to provide two recent line manager references including your current employer
