The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

About the Division

Statewide Programs and Tech Schools Division

Within School Education Programs & Support (SEPS), the Statewide Programs and Tech Schools Division (SPaTS) delivers policy, programs and resources to:

  • Assist students to thrive at schools, particularly those facing financial hardship
  • Support teachers deliver the curriculum, both inside and outside the classroom, in ways that support student learning and wellbeing - through Tech Schools and STEM centres, School Sports Victoria, swimming programs, State Schools Spectacular, the Strategic Partnerships Program and English as an Additional Language resources
  • Support priority cohorts of students, including CALD and refugee students, and rural and regional students

School Sport Victoria (SSV) is part of the Statewide Programs and Tech Schools Division

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to support implementation of key elements of the School Sport Victoria interschool sport programs, including:

  • Implement event management plans to identify and support the School Sport Victoria Regional interschool sport programs
  • Support and respond to queries from Division and District Coordinators
  • With the support of the Interschool Sport Manager and CEO, coordinate and respond to SSV appeals and complaints relating to interschool sport
  • Together with the Interschool Sport Manager and the other RSSOs, ensure the implementation of the SSV Child Safe Officer Program and Positive Behaviour Rules related to interschool sport and other duties as needed to support the work of SSV

The position will work in cooperation with Region Coordinators and other School Sport Victoria staff to ensure all requirements for teams and events are determined including facilities, scheduling, communications, marketing and financial considerations are met.

The role includes communicating and working effectively with stakeholder organisations within government, the school sector and the broader sporting sector, to build and maintain networks that will contribute to the delivery of successful project outcomes.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

A tertiary qualification is preferred.

Experience in schools and/or sporting event delivery is preferable
