The role

Lead as the Finance Manager and work alongside the CEO to drive performance, deliver sharp insights, and shape the company’s next chapter.

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, including AP and Payroll, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.

Prepare monthly management and project reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, WIP, and project-specific reporting.

Develop KPI reporting, analyse variances, and provide actionable financial insights to senior leadership.

Drive budgeting, costings, labour/utilization reporting, and resource optimisation.

Streamline reporting processes, support automation initiatives (Excel macros, Power BI, ERP), and maintain documentation of procedures.

Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, statutory obligations, payroll, BAS, and superannuation.

Provide audit support, assist with schedules, and manage debt recovery processes.

Collaborate with operations and leadership to explain financial results, recommend improvements, and support decision-making.

What we are looking for:

CA/CPA qualified or equivalent relevant working experience.

5+ years’ experience in financial reporting, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Strong understanding of project/construction accounting and related principles.

Sound knowledge of accounting principles, reporting frameworks, and compliance requirements.

Hands-on experience with P&L analysis, cash flow management, journal entries, expense reallocations, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Advanced Excel skills, with experience in reporting and data analysis.

Experience using ERP systems to streamline processes and reporting.

High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team collaboration skills.
