About the Role
Are you a strategic and hands-on construction leader with a strong track record in delivering complex, high-value, multi-site retail and infrastructure projects? We’re looking for a Construction Project Manager to take charge of our national capital works portfolio, including full-site rebuilds, format upgrades, and major equipment rollouts.
This is more than just a traditional project management role. You’ll not only manage individual projects—budgets, timelines, contractors, and site outcomes—but also oversee multiple concurrent programs across a national footprint. You’ll ensure strategic alignment, strong governance, and smooth integration across all workstreams.
In this senior leadership role, you’ll coordinate diverse stakeholders, apply rigorous risk and commercial controls, and provide clear reporting to executive leadership. You’ll be the benchmark for project governance, commercial accountability, stakeholder engagement, and safety.
Reporting to the National Construction Manager, you'll drive planning, risk and safety leadership, and continuous improvement—ensuring our projects are delivered safely, sustainably, and in line with business priorities.
What You’ll Do
Deliver complex, multi-site construction projects end-to-end, ensuring they meet time, budget, and quality targets.
Manage multiple simultaneous workstreams, creating integrated master schedules and resource plans for efficiency at scale.
Align cross-functional stakeholders (Property, Operations, Finance, Regulatory, and more) to deliver coordinated national programs.
Oversee contractor performance, scope, risk, and commercial controls with a focus on accountability.
Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all sites.
Provide accurate, timely reporting to senior leadership on progress, risks, and strategic alignment.
Promote a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and stakeholder-focused delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Compliance: Apply stage gates, procurement frameworks, and delegated authority processes to meet internal and regulatory standards.
Planning & Scheduling: Build and manage integrated plans using tools like Primavera and MS Project for seamless portfolio execution.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across business units and with external partners to support timely, high-quality project delivery.
Commercial Management: Lead CAPEX forecasting, procurement, and cost control, ensuring accountability and value from delivery partners.
Decision-Making: Make capital project decisions within delegated authority; escalate to the National Construction Manager when needed.
Safety Leadership: Champion a zero-harm culture by enforcing WHS, OEMS, and AS/NZS standards across all operations.
Continuous Improvement: Capture and embed lessons learned, drive innovation, and enhance sustainability and processes throughout delivery.
Team Leadership: Lead by example—fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture built on collaboration, integrity, and accountability.
