Position Overview
Floorex Products is a leading manufacturer and supplier of equipment for the Concrete Floor Preparation and Floor Coverings Industry. As a family-owned business with headquarters in Swan Hill, Victoria, we operate showrooms in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Auckland. We are passionate about our people, products, and customers.
The National Service Technician is responsible for providing in-house and on-site service, maintenance, and technical support for the company's products we manufacture across multiple regions. This role involves working in our dedicated service facility in Sydney and also traveling regularly to other Floorex locations, diagnosing technical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring optimal performance of equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repair:
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with machinery / equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and preventative care to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
Repair or replace defective parts and components to restore functionality.
Customer Support:
Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly.
Educate customers on best practices for equipment use and care.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of service calls, including issues encountered, repairs performed, and parts used.
Prepare and submit service reports and documentation as required.
Provide feedback to the product development and engineering teams on common issues and potential product improvements.
Travel and Scheduling:
Travel regularly to Floorex locations and customer sites if required, which may cover multiple regions
Manage and prioritize service calls efficiently to meet customer needs and minimize downtime.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during service visits.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Skills & Experience Required
Education: Technical degree or certification in electrical, mechanical engineering, or a related field (preferred but not always required).
Experience: Proven experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support roles, particularly with the company's specific products or related technologies.
Skills:
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Proficiency with relevant tools and diagnostic equipment.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively, often at short notice.
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various environments, and handle the demands of frequent travel.
Forklift licence (preferred but not required)
