💼About the role:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Assistant Maintenance Worker to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will support the Maintenance & Facilities Officer in the upkeep and presentation of our facilities, helping to ensure safe, clean, and welcoming environments for our participants, team members, visitors, and community members.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and general landscaping duties across CAC facilities

Respond to maintenance-related tasks and requests in a timely and professional manner

Support routine inspections of buildings and equipment to identify issues or required repairs

Maintain cleanliness and safety of outdoor areas, including pathways, car parks, and communal spaces

Collaborate with the Maintenance & Facilities Officer, management, and other delegates to ensure facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented

Operate tools and machinery safely and responsibly

Report hazards, damages, or incidents to the Maintenance & Facilities Officer and/or management

🤝Requirements of the role:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a maintenance or groundskeeping role (preferred)

Proven experience in grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and general landscaping

Ability to identify and report hazards or maintenance needs, particularly in outdoor environments

Familiarity with routine maintenance tasks such as basic repairs, servicing, and safety checks

Competence in the safe and effective use of power tools and equipment

Experience operating and maintaining mowing equipment safely and efficiently

Understanding of workplace health and safety practices relevant to maintenance work

Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Experience working with people with disability in residential or community settings (preferred)
