Small Engine Mechanic

Outdoor /Gardening power equipment repair and service

Position will require completing repairs, maintenance and servicing on a variety of makes and models of outdoor power equipment (i.e. lawn mowers, chain saws, brush cutters etc.) according to customers' needs in a timely manner. Be able to repair and service ride on mowers will be a great advantage for the applicant.

Main duties:

diagnosing and testing parts with and/or without the assistance of computers

detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts

repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components referring to service manuals as needed

performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrication and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of the outdoor power equipment especially of the ride on mowers

testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance

record of the time and parts that had been used in the jobs

generate service reports from the system (training provided)

attends on-going job trainings

Knowledge and Skills:

Sound knowledge of outdoor power equipment working mechanism both petrol and electricity/batteries operated machines

Be able to work systematically and thoroughly to diagnose and repair according to diagnoses in a timely manner

Be able to maintain the work-related resources and tools in an organized and working condition.

Be able to communicate efficiently within a team environment

Be able to work in a fast-moving working environment.

With on-the-job training be able use Biscount workshop software to conduct work individually

Experience using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, compression testers, and engine analysers

Qualifications:

Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology, Mobile Plant Technology, or equivalent mechanical trade qualification preferred (relevant experience considered for candidates without formal qualifications)

Forklift license

Current Driver's license

Eligible to work in Australia (Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa)

Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a mechanic preferable

Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience servicing and repairing small engines, outdoor power equipment, or similar mechanical systems
