An exciting opportunity exists to assist with the revitalization of an iconic Melbourne attraction. A number of technical/ mechanical delivery roles are available working within the trades and services department of the Melbourne Star, based in The District Docklands.

Initially the focus of work will be reactivating/refreshing the attraction, which is currently closed. Operating within a small team of technicians, tradespeople and engineers, the Technicians will be expected to perform the following duties.

Installation of cabling and cabling systems.

Installation of themed lighting systems.

Removal and replacement of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

Removal and replacement of motors, gearboxes and similar mechanical devices.

General maintenance on varied systems like air-conditioning, intercoms, CCTV and audiovisual equipment.

Occasional light building works.

Record keeping and administration.

Management of small teams.

Establishing some familiarity with all aspects of the device and attraction.

Operating (driving) the wheel.

Occasional heavy lifting (within safe limits) will be required, and a reasonable level of fitness is essential.

It is important to note that the duties of this role will include working at heights of up to 70m, and occasional exposure to inclement weather.

All relevant specialist training, certification, uniform, tools and equipment will be provided.

The roles are full-time (nominally 40 hours per week) and will include paid overtime.
