The opportunity
We are in the market for a talented, motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Engagement Officer, who is passionate about their profession and enjoys the rewards of a good challenge.
As a key member of our Environmental Engagement team, your main objectives will be to deliver environmental education programs and projects that support the delivery of the City’s Strategic Community Plan and Environment Strategy, as well as partner and engage with our community to drive initiatives that will deliver improved environmental outcomes for the community.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainable Development, Community Engagement, or similar relevant discipline (essential)
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in environmental education and community engagement, including managing volunteers
- Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of community environmental education and engagement programs
- Demonstrated experience in engaging with a variety of stakeholders on community environmental or sustainability projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced role and manage multiple concurrent priorities
- Demonstrated understanding of environmental and sustainability issues at a local level, including how they contribute to broader issues at a national and global scale and how this relates to community action
- Ability to work outside of normal hours, including weeknights and on weekends (essential)
- Current C-B or C-A National Driver’s License (essential)
- Working With Children (WWC) Check (essential)
