Who are we looking for?
A casual Medical Receptionist passionate about customer service, to become part of our warm and welcoming administration team.
The role will be casual hours approximately 15-20 hours a week over 2-3 days with the flexibility to work extra hours to cover staff leave if required.
Key responsibilities will include :
Manage incoming telephone calls and assisting patients with inquiries, and take accurate messages.
Preparing clinics for Gastroenterology and other specialists.
Meet and Greet and schedule appointments for consults as well as pre procedure and post procedure appointments.
Processing patient billing and receipting.
Accurate processing of all medical correspondence and administration relating to patients.
Following up on patient radiology, imaging and pathology.
Providing general day to day administration support to the doctors, patients and administration team.
Skills required:
Exceptional customer service.
Deliver a high level of interpersonal, written and oral and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with all levels of staff and consultants.
Understand the importance of patient confidentiality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft office.
Experience in practice management software e.g. Clinic to Cloud, Genie is desirable but not essential, or the ability to adapt and acquire knowledge of new systems.
Good understanding of medical terminology, Medicare and Health Funds desirable.
Deliver a high level of interpersonal, written and oral and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with all levels of staff and consultants.
Experience in a healthcare environment, specialist, hospital or day hospital is desirable but not mandatory.
University students wanting Health Environment experience are also welcome.
Extra training and support will be offered to an applicant who is enthusiastic and open to learning new skills.
