Electrician (Maintenance Officer - Electrical)

About the role

The Buildings and Grounds team is located in the Department of Parliamentary Services and is responsible for the maintenance and development of the historic grounds at Parliament House and provision of a comprehensive range of building support services.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Officer (Electrical) will carry out electrical works as well as maintenance activities (including carpentry and general maintenance) within the Parliamentary Precinct as well as providing customer focussed support and services to Members of Parliament, staff and the public.

About you

  • You are a qualified electrician and have experience in delivering high quality electrical works and maintenance services within a similar environment;
  • You have strong communication skills to deal with a broad customer base and are passionate about delivering high-quality customer service; and
  • You have sufficient knowledge and experience in managing health and safety issues, operating and maintaining all workspaces, machinery, and equipment to ensure safe work practices.
  • You hold an approved trade qualification and A Grade electrical licence
