Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic IT team and work alongside a supportive group of experienced professionals committed to innovation and excellence. The role offers a hybrid work model, with at least two days per week in the office. Thursday is our team anchor day, and all team members are expected to be onsite.

The Project Officer will support the successful delivery of projects and initiatives. We're looking for a proactive self-starter who thrives in dynamic environments, can navigate ambiguity with confidence, and works effectively with minimal supervision. In this role, you'll manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring outcomes are delivered efficiently, accurately, and to a high standard.

Position detials

The position is responsible for:

  • Organising project meetings, workshops, briefings, and presentations, including the preparation and distribution of material pre and post meeting and following up on action items.
  • Assist in coordinating project events (including venue bookings, catering, tech support, registrations and pack creation)
  • Manage project purchase orders, invoices, maintaining financial tracking documentation and supporting various procurement administrative activities.
  • Support the Senior IT Project Manager to develop and manage project reports.
  • Support the development and implementation of project communications.

To be successful in this role, the successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, adaptability, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, quality and attention to detail.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 570 Bourke Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.

The Essential Services Commission is Victoria's independent economic regulator of essential services supplied by a range of industries. The commission's functions include:

  • making regulatory decisions with respect to prescribed industries (including price determinations, licensing, customer protection and access disputes).
