About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Body Exteriors Engineer for a contract role placed with Ford’s Product Development team in Campbellfield. In this role, you will be working in a dynamic global environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and release of Pick up box/ hood/ Fender sheet metal systems.

Develop CAD model for sheet metal systems using 3DEX/ CATIA software.

Work with cross functional team to deliver cost, tooling and weight objectives.

Work with Studio, Manufacturing, CAE, suppliers, and interface systems Design engineers to incorporate design requirements and ensure design feasibility.

Support Ford Current and Forward model quality – Root cause analysis, Boundary Diagram, DFMEA, SCCAF etc.

Lead engineering processes like BOM sign off, FMEA and quality control plans, CAD-loop with studio surface release, design reviews with suppliers, manufacturing and plant teams, review quotes with Finance, Purchasing, investigate design optimization with CAE.

Participate in team meetings and present system status, highlight risks and opportunities on the vehicle program, and gateway checklists to Body exterior management at Ford Australia and core team in Ford North America.

Support proto build, Design validation, and launch activities on-site at FOA & Ford Manufacturing plants, globally.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Bachelor degree in Engineering or in a related field.

Minimum 8+ years’ relevant industry experience.

Highly proactive – able to demonstrate and inspire a can do attitude.

Show strong emotional maturity and resilience.

Able to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and the internal teams.

Excellent interpersonal, persuasive and team working skills.

Extensive experience with Teamcenter14, VisMockup, Catia V5 and 3Dx, MS Office.

Detailed knowledge of the product development process from design, development, validation and industrialization.
