Love working with nature? Ready to help shape a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful community?

The City of Nedlands wants you on our team!

About Us
Nestled just 7km from Perth’s buzzing CBD, the City of Nedlands boasts a stunning mix of river foreshore, lush parks, and white-sand beaches. We’re proud of our vibrant, safe, and inclusive community – and we’re passionate about keeping it that way with top-tier local services and an energetic, people-first team.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Landscape Maintenance Officer who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty (literally) and loves being out in the open. You'll play a key role in keeping our green spaces in tip-top shape. If your idea of a good day includes fresh air, flowering gardens, and the satisfaction of a job well done – this one’s for you.

You’ll be doing things like:

  • Maintaining parks and landscaped areas to a high standard – think pruning, planting, mulching, rose bush TLC, and more.
  • Keeping public areas safe and tidy – yes, you’ll be that quiet hero removing debris and weeds.
  • Using a range of tools and machinery – hedge trimmers, blowers, sprayers, and more (you’ll feel like a garden ninja).
  • Supporting minor park infrastructure repairs.
  • Being a champion for safety, including traffic and pedestrian management where needed.
  • Keeping our gear clean, functional, and safe – because tools deserve love too.

Who You Are
You're a hands-on doer with:

  • Practical experience in landscape or park maintenance.
  • Confidence operating maintenance equipment.
  • A strong understanding of worksite safety and traffic management.
  • Bonus points for chemical handling accreditation.

Essentials:

  • MR class Driver’s Licence
  • White Card (Construction Safety)
  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
  • Nationally recognised Chemical Handling Training
  • Certificate III in Parks & Gardens or Horticulture – or you're working towards it.
  • Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical

What’s in it for you?
Besides working outdoors and feeling awesome about it:

  • A permanent full-time role with a salary of $74,559 - $81,976 + super
  • 4 weeks of annual leave + 3 extra days at Christmas
  • Paid parental leave (12 weeks primary carer / 2 weeks partner leave).
  • Up to 14% super contributions
  • Health and wellness perks: Fitness Passport, EAP access, private health discounts
  • Salary sacrifice and novated leasing options
  • Ongoing training and development – grow with us!

Ready to apply?

  • Submit your application via the City of Nedlands website by 5pm AWST, Wednesday 22 October 2025. Please note: We recommend applying early, as the City may fill the role before the closing date and previous applicant need not apply.
  • Make sure to review the Position Description to confirm the role is right for you.
  • For a confidential conversation, contact Ryland Polain (Hiring Manager) on (08) 9273 3500.
