We are seeking a skilled and reliable Switchboard Fitters/ trade assistants and leading hands to join our Client at a locally owned and operated switchboard manufacturing company in Brisbane . The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical assembly, wiring, and testing of custom-built switchboards and control panels in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and Australian Standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble switchboards, control panels, and enclosures using hand and power tools.
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
• Install and wire components such as circuit breakers, contactors, meters, busbars, isolators, and control devices.
• Perform point-to-point wiring and cable terminations.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and to high-quality standards.
• Conduct basic functional testing and quality checks on completed switchboards.
• Work collaboratively with other team members including electricians, fitters, and designers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the workshop.
• Assist with incoming materials handling, component preparation, and stock checks as required.

Skills and Qualifications:Essential:

• Previous experience in switchboard fitting/building or a similar electrical assembly role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics.
• QLD Electrical License
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety practices.

Desirable:

• Electrical trade qualification or Certificate III in Electrotechnology (Electrician).
• LV switchboard manufacturing experience in line with AS/NZS 61439.
• Forklift license or experience operating workshop machinery (desirable but not required).
