Field Service Mechanic - Cranes
$45-$55/hr + OT + Bonus + Vehicle | Sydney Based

The Role
A new opportunity exists for a Field Service Mechanic (Diesel Mechanic) to join the Sydney team. This role is responsible for the diagnosis, service, repair, and maintenance of mobile cranes across a wide customer base. It requires advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diagnostic skills, along with the ability to work autonomously in the field.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance
- Perform breakdown repairs and emergency call-outs for customers
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation
- Provide technical support and excellent customer service onsite
- Work closely with OEM support and technical teams

The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will be:
- Trade qualified: Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
- Experienced in servicing mobile plant/machinery (ideally cranes) with any OEM - e.g. Liebherr, Tadano, Terex, Grove, Sany, XCMG
- Open to candidates from related industries such as port equipment, forklifts, access machinery, mobile earthmoving, or truck OEMs (Mercedes, Volvo etc.)
- Strong mechanical and electrical background with advanced diagnostics ability
- Able to work independently in the field and manage customer relationships
- Customer service focused with strong communication skills
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and driven to build a long-term career
