THE ROLE

We are seeking x2 Trade Qualified and experienced motor mechanics to join our team.

The role reports to the Workshop Manager and will be required to perform mechanical repairs, diagnostics, changing batteries, tyres and servicing of light and heavy vehicles with breakdown duties.

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate to join the QwikFit Roadside Response team will require the following skills:

Australian qualified Certificate III with a minimum of 2 years experience on job training required or Certificate IV or equivalent overseas qualifications with at least 1 year experience

At least 1 year employment experience required as a trade qualified motor mechanic

A preferred minimum of 2 + years’ experience on trucks & trailer maintenance which will be plus point in role;

Motivated team player with an exceptional eye for detail;

Tasks will include;

- detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components,and checking parts, repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed;

Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations, testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance

Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers

Current Full Car licence mandatory;

Excellent people and communication skills;

Participation in rotating weekend breakdown roster;

Be subject to a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing;

Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised whilst maintaining a safe work area
