Role Details:

Position: Full-Time Motor Mechanic

Location: Gurkhas Auto Repairs

Shifts: Due to the nature of the role, occasional morning, evening, weekend, and public holiday shifts may be required

Responsibilities

Diagnosis and Fault Detection: Identify and diagnose both mechanical and electrical malfunctions within engines and associated parts, often utilizing computer-assisted testing and diagnostic tools.

Disassembly and Inspection: Systematically dismantle and remove vehicle components, including engine assemblies, transmissions, and steering mechanisms, followed by a thorough inspection and checking of all removed parts.

Repair and Reassembly: Repair or replace worn-out and defective parts, reassembling mechanical components and consulting service manuals as necessary to ensure accuracy.

Maintenance and Compliance: Conduct scheduled maintenance services, such as performing oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, with the goal of optimizing vehicle performance and ensuring adherence to all relevant pollution regulations.

Post-Repair Verification: Reassemble repaired engines and parts, and then test and adjust those mechanical components to confirm proper performance and function.

Vehicle Examination (Optional): May include inspecting vehicles and either issuing roadworthiness certificates or detailing the specific work required for a vehicle to achieve roadworthiness.

Emergency Response: Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls to provide assistance.

Requirements:

Atleast 1 years Proven experience as a motor mechanic

Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and in a team

A valid driver's license
