About the Organisation

Yolk Digital is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) in the Server and Storage Section within the Infrastructure and Operational Support Branch. The candidate will be a Citrix-skilled Server Engineer required to undertake critical work within the section. Current work within the section includes the refresh of ageing infrastructure and provides the opportunity to work with more automated deployments across a range of products, including Windows Server, VMware, Nutanix and Citrix in a virtualised environment.

Working Arrangements

Hybrid: DFAT will consider a hybrid working arrangement of 4 days in office (Canberra based) + 1 day from home at DFAT's sole and absolute discretion. Remote / interstate based candidates will not be considered.
Security Clearance

An active Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) clearance is required.

Key Responsibilities

It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Undertake technical deliverables as a recognised senior specialist.

Implement and support Microsoft Server solutions and designs.

Implement and support virtualised server environments across a global network.

Understand and implement Citrix solutions in a complex environment.

Provide end-to-end technical solutions.

Assist with system changes, updates, upgrades and relocations.

Compile technical documentation.

Demonstrate high-level communication skills.

Analyse and resolve complex enterprise system hardware and software problems.

Interface with peer teams and vendors to coordinate solutions.

Demonstrate strong coordination and organisational skills with high attention to detail.

Skills & Experience

DFAT seeks a suitable candidate with the following SFIA level:

Delivery and Operation / Technology Management / IT Infrastructure (ITOP) - Level 5.

Essential Criteria

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Server versions up to and including Server 2022 in an enterprise environment.

Demonstrated experience in managing a complex Citrix environment.

Virtualisation technologies including both VMware and Nutanix technologies, design, build, operating and troubleshooting.
