Our client, a large Federal Government organisation, whose focus is on social welfare and support services, require the services of multiple Senior Gateway Engineer(s).

Duties of the Senior Gateway Engineer

• Design/evaluate/implement/support/test infrastructure requirements to meet future infrastructure demand;
• Prepare, review & maintain documentation which may include design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, & support procedures;
• Participate in change management process and communicate the end-to-end implications of configuration changes;
• Provide detailed, specialist technical advice, including strategic advice to the senior executive;
• Manage the operation of backup, high availability & disaster recovery solutions for IT systems;
• Manage the regular maintenance of patches & support packages for all technical layers;
• Manage the administration & operation of the Gateway network kit.

Skills and Experience Required

• At least five (5) years demonstrated experience in the design, management & maintenance of internet gateway and/or large scale data centre networking environment;
• Demonstrated experience and technical proficiency in the design of services utilising F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching/load balancing and proxy systems;
• Demonstrated experience in the design and deployment of network infrastructure including Cisco Data centre technologies like Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, nexus switches, routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP;
• Demonstrated experience with and/or detailed understanding of Palo Alto firewalls and IPS Solutions;
• Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of VPN technologies, email and DNS (Infoblox) Solutions;
• Demonstrated experience in the design and integration of hybrid and public cloud services;
• Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of system architecture and design documentation;
• Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of Australian Government information security policies, the ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight.

• Palo Alto firewalls and IPS Solutions;
• VPN technologies, email and DNS (Infoblox) Solutions;
