Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Canberra Contract Role
A 12-month full-time contract (40 hours per week) for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain resilient ICT systems supporting major government digital services. About the Senior Infrastructure Engineer Role
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for delivering scalable and secure enterprise infrastructure. This includes Cisco ACI, Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, hybrid cloud environments, and advanced gateway administration. You will play a key role in shaping infrastructure strategy while ensuring the reliability of services used nationwide.

Daily Responsibilities
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

• Design, evaluate, and implement scalable ICT infrastructure solutions.
• Provide technical leadership for project builds, testing, and deployments.
• Prepare and maintain detailed design, implementation, and test documentation.
• Participate in change management and contribute to operational policy.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide high-level advice to senior executives.
• Research and adopt emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage disaster recovery, backups, patches, and gateway network operations.
• Collaborate with interagency teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.

What You Will Need
