Radeka Downunder Motel is a unique underground property in the heart of Coober Pedy, South Australia. We provide motel rooms, budget accommodation, and distinctive underground spaces for guests from around the world.

The Role

We are seeking a live-in Motel Manager (or Management Couple) to oversee daily operations. Ordinary rostered hours are 2pm–7pm daily, with on-call outside these times. This is a hands-on role where you’ll balance front-of-house duties with staff supervision and property upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

Manage reception, reservations, and guest services (Preno, Booking.com, Expedia).

Supervise, roster, and train staff.

Personally assist with housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning when required.

Ensure presentation and cleanliness across all rooms and facilities.

Oversee finances, reconciliations, compliance, and WHS.

Handle guest complaints professionally and promptly.

Support marketing, promotions, and social media content.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Experience in hospitality, motel, hotel, or similar management role.

Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills.

Experience with property management systems and OTAs.

Financial literacy and problem-solving ability.

Practical, hands-on approach suited to remote/regional living.

Current driver’s licence.

Desirable

RSA certificate, hospitality/business qualifications.

HR/staff performance management and handyman/maintenance skills.

Familiarity with regional tourism markets and social media promotion.

What We Offer

Cash salary: ~$65,000–$68,000 p.a. (before super and benefits).

Total package value: ~$92,000–$95,000 p.a. (includes accommodation, utilities, and super).

Fully furnished onsite 2-bedroom accommodation (≈$15,000) plus utilities (≈$4,000) included free.

Superannuation contributions at 12% (≈$7,800–$8,200).

Training and ongoing phone support provided
