About the Role
Comfort Inn Whyalla, part of the locally owned M&G Hotel Group, is seeking a hands-on and experienced Motel Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our 41-room property. This is a contract role ideal for a motivated individual or hospitality management couple looking for a rewarding opportunity in regional South Australia.
A fully self-contained 2-bedroom unit is included in the package, with new inventory coming, offering additional operational scope and growth potential within the role.
What You'll Be Doing
Oversee daily hotel operations including front office, housekeeping, F&B, and maintenance
Lead, manage and train a team of hospitality staff
Drive profitability through effective budgeting and cost control
Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and brand standards
Deliver an exceptional guest experience and maintain high customer service standards
Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and stakeholders
Report on KPIs and identify areas for operational improvement
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a Motel or General Manager in the hospitality sector
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Financial and operational management experience
Proficiency in hotel PMS (such as RMS or Opera).
Experience managing online travel agencies (OTAs) and booking platforms
A guest-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and service
Hands-on approach and willingness to be involved in all areas of the operation
Valid Australian Driver`s license & full rights to work in Australia required
